Delta 2 - Kepler - March 6, 2009Posted by Per (Central Florida, United States) on 7 March 2009 in Transportation. Launched from SLC-17B, Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Florida The United Launch Alliance Delta 2 rocket launched NASA's Kepler spacecraft to discover and characterize hundreds of planets. The rocket flew in the 7925 vehicle configuration. Taken in my backyard roughly 25 miles south of the launch site. I live on the Space Coast of Florida and enjoy making photographs of things that, for whatever reason, interest me. You'll notice that a lot of my photography is "space" related (goes with the day job), but I photograph just about anything. If you would like to leave a comment please feel free to do so. All comments and critiques (good or bad) are welcome and appreciated. Thanks for looking.

If you don't mind me asking... what time was it taken at? 7 Mar 2009 7:39pm @Tracy: Thank you! The launch was at 10:49 PM Eastern time and this was a 92 second exposure. I'll have to get out the fisheye lens for the next Delta II launch I think :-) Thank you for the wonderful comment |
