Atlantis STS-125 LaunchPosted by Per (Central Florida, United States) on 13 May 2009 in Business & Industry. Go Atlantis! Launch date: May 11, 2009 I live on the Space Coast of Florida and enjoy making photographs of things that, for whatever reason, interest me. You'll notice that a lot of my photography is "space" related (goes with the day job), but I photograph just about anything. If you would like to leave a comment please feel free to do so. All comments and critiques (good or bad) are welcome and appreciated. Thanks for looking.

@Moridi: Thank you - it's an awesome sight to see! @Eric: Thanks! cassiel from Mexico, MexicoWoww, spectacular!! Thanks for the shot. How is the noise, the rumble and the emotion from an launch? 15 May 2009 6:59pm @cassiel: When you stand there you see the cloud of smoke, then the roar of the engines reaches you and you can feel the shock wave. It's really awe inspiring! This flight was even more interesting since, from where I was standing the shuttle usually flies directly away and this time it took a more southerly course so we could watch the roll and enjoy seeing more of the flight. Thanks for commenting :-) Barbara from Florida, United StatesIncredible! What a shot. I know the time I drive from this coast to be there for a launch it would be scrubbed. You have a fantastic advantage and great images. 19 Aug 2009 3:14am @Barbara: I had the "perfect spot" to photograph this launch... and then all those people managed to pop in front of me. A lot of the people I work with don't even bother watching the launches anymore. I think I've got 7 more chances to photograph shuttle launches and I'm hoping not to miss any of them. |
