Go Atlantis!
Launch date: May 11, 2009
I live on the Space Coast of Florida and enjoy making photographs of things that, for whatever reason, interest me. You'll notice that a lot of my photography is "space" related (goes with the day job), but I photograph just about anything.
If you would like to leave a comment please feel free to do so. All comments and critiques (good or bad) are welcome and appreciated. Thanks for looking.
@Moridi: Thank you - it's an awesome sight to see!
@Eric: Thanks!
@cassiel: When you stand there you see the cloud of smoke, then the roar of the engines reaches you and you can feel the shock wave. It's really awe inspiring!
This flight was even more interesting since, from where I was standing the shuttle usually flies directly away and this time it took a more southerly course so we could watch the roll and enjoy seeing more of the flight.
Thanks for commenting :-)
@Barbara: I had the "perfect spot" to photograph this launch... and then all those people managed to pop in front of me. A lot of the people I work with don't even bother watching the launches anymore. I think I've got 7 more chances to photograph shuttle launches and I'm hoping not to miss any of them.
