Launched August 7, 2013 from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station.

I live on the Space Coast of Florida and enjoy making photographs of things that, for whatever reason, interest me. You'll notice that a lot of my photography is "space" related (goes with the day job), but I photograph just about anything.

If you would like to leave a comment please feel free to do so. All comments and critiques (good or bad) are welcome and appreciated. Thanks for looking.

8 Aug 2013 10:50pm

DarkElf from Perth, Australia

wonderfully seen and captured! excellent shutter speed to capture the entire arc of the rocket trail! well done!

9 Aug 2013 1:27am

@DarkElf: Thank you. I did this one differently though. I used 30 images exposed for 8 seconds each and stitched them using Startrails.exe. A couple of minutes in Photoshop and a few adjustments in Lightroom and here you go. i hope tht doesn't make the image less interesting for you. I would have put all that in the description usually, but I didn't think anybody would notice this photography :)

Emilio Garcia from Pleasanton, United States

Wonderfully done and great effect was achieved. I still don't understand how you could take 30 pictures of 8 sec. each? Wouldn't the rocket have been out of range by the time you finished? No matter - great photograph!

10 Aug 2013 11:57pm

@Emilio Garcia: I should have kept shooting, there was more to capture! I could have captured another minute or two and had a better arc. Next time... Thanks for looking :)
